2012 Acura TL SH-AWD Elite Review

Acura has seen its sales tumble regularly over the last 18 to 24 months, and I can understand why: Polarizing designs that fail to generate a conflicting or contrasting position can't be good – especially when it's all negative. We all know that design trumps, or quite nearly, everything including needs and usefulness. In the TL's case, at least since 2009, it's got it backwards.


The sad part about the TL is that it is actually a good car. Thankfully, it's been made more tolerable physically for 2012 with a revised front fascia that trades “I'm different” for “I want to be one of them.” Gone is the overgrown layer of plastic which used to creep up to the bonnet, and revamped is the lower-bumper opening which holds turn-signals and fog lights. Out back, the lower portion of the bumper skin has also been revised, however, the changes are very subtle. The remainder of the car is largely untouched.


Overall, the tweaked, or watered-down, exterior shell is pleasant given what it used to be pre-2009, which was hot. This then is a compliment. In Bellanova white, its stunted beak is far easier to appreciate, as is the TL's overall shape.

Acura TSX range gets a price tag

After unveiling the new special edition and sporty version of the Acura TSX, Honda’s luxury brand decided to get a little more serious and business like by announcing a new price range.

It includes the Acura TSX Sedan, the TSX Sport Wagon and even the above mentioned special edition as well.

Quite the surprise available as far as the luxury side of Acura is concerned but it seems like they’ve priced the TSX at a very good value side of the story.

It’s a tentatively Japanese like pricing strategy, and as far as hardcore figures are concerned it’s all looking pretty good.

The 2012 Acura TSX SE begins at $30.810 and for this sort of money they will let you have your own way between a five-speed automatic or six-speed manual gearbox.

Special edition 2012 Acura TSX unveiled

Here’s a car you often see rolling down the road yet rarely hear about in the news, pay much attention to in car shows or, more recently, buy.

It’s the Acura TSX and it seems like Honda’s luxury division wants to make a special edition for the 2012 model year of their car.

2012 Acura TSX Special Edition

The 2012 Acura TSX Special Edition will be making a debut during the Orange County Auto Show, round at the same time as the Frankfurt Motor Show.

A market release is about to be happening at the same time. Acura claims that this new special edition will be getting a sportier look courtesy of a few styling tweaks.
