2011 Acura TSX
The much-maligned wagon, supposedly replaced for good by the crossover, or, even worse, the "gran turismo," lives on healthily at Acura with the 2011 TSX. Also available as a four-door sedan, the 2011 TSX offers a look into what all Acuras should be, with plenty of equipment, relatively compact size, efficient powertrains, and user-friendly design. MotorAuthority rates the TSX a solid 8 for its available wagon form factor, an increasing rarity in the luxury segment.
Fighting it out against more entrenched luxury brands from Germany and even its own Japanese rivals, not to mention the rising Americans, the TSX has earned its place through merit. Two engine choices are available, both fun to drive, though the V-6 adds the top-end power many drivers will want.
The 201-horsepower four-cylinder is peppy and pleasant-sounding even at full tilt, while managing a wallet-friendly 22 mpg in town and 30 mpg on the highway. The 280-horsepower V-6 doesn't nip too much deeper at the pump, scoring 19/28 mpg. It's also willing to stretch its legs, though with either engine, you'll get a chassis that's tuned to deliver a firm, responsive ride.
